About the Author

Arif Khan is a technology leader, architect, and founder with decades of experience designing, building, scaling, and leading large-scale software and data platforms.

During his career at Microsoft, Arif worked across Bing, Xbox, Windows, and Office, helping build services that operated at massive scale. His experience includes designing systems that processed petabytes of data across clusters with tens of thousands of nodes. He also worked at several startups, where he led the development of large-scale distributed services.

Today, Arif is focused on solving one of the hardest problems in analytics: extracting meaningful patterns and behaviors from vast datasets and making those insights easy to query without requiring technical expertise.

He is currently building Zinzu, a sequence analytics platform that helps organizations understand how events unfold over time, identify behavioral patterns, and query complex event sequences through a simple interface.

Zinzu already supports GA4 analytics and is now being expanded to Snowflake for enterprise customers. The broader goal is to establish a new category in analytics: Sequential Analytics Processing.

Through his writing, Arif shares practical insights from decades of building real-world systems, with a focus on distributed systems, large-scale data platforms, cloud architecture, analytics, and emerging technologies.
